We had a visitor on our back deck the other morning. We have a pair of owls that live on our property and this spring they had three babies. One of them didn't make it but the other two are doing well. One of them decided to check us out a little closer and flew onto our deck rail. he stayed for a few minutes; long enough for me to snap a few shots up close and then he took off and went to the cluster of trees behind our barn. He's still a baby, but he's about 18-20 inches high. And check out his claws!
