“SUPERMAN RETURNS” receives top honors at the 33rd Annual Saturn Awards

As the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films celebrates their 35th anniversary this year, the Saturn Awards (this year marks the 33rd) honored the biggest and brightest at this year’s extravaganza hosted by Greg Grunberg & Jeffrey Ross. This year’s event took place at the Universal Hilton on May 10, 2007.

Superman Returns” led the winners with five awards in film and “Heroes” took the top honors for television with three awards. Superman Returns” won Best Fantasy Film, as well as awards for direction (Bryan Singer), writing (Dan Harris, Michael Dougherty), actor (Brandon Routh), and music (John Ottman). The Universal release, “Children of Men” received the award for Best Science Fiction film.

Heroes” won Best Network Television Series and two of the stars of the show received honors (Masi Oka – Best Supporting Actor, and Hayden Panettiere – Best Supporting Actress).
